Civil Litigation Attorney - Insurance Defense

A growing insurance defense law firm is seeking a Civil Litigation Attorney to join its Southern California offices. This role offers hands-on litigation experience, strong mentorship, and early exposure to trial work in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

  • Active member in good standing with the California Bar
  • 0-4+ years of civil litigation experience (insurance defense preferred, not required)
  • Experience drafting pleadings, discovery, and motions
  • Strong legal research skills (Westlaw)
  • Excellent writing, analytical, and advocacy skills
  • Ability to manage a caseload independently
  • Organized, deadline-driven, and motivated to learn

Responsibilities

  • Handle civil litigation matters from intake through trial or settlement
  • Conduct legal research and develop case strategy
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery
  • Participate in depositions, hearings, and trials
  • Negotiate settlements and communicate with clients
  • Maintain organized case files

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $120,000-$180,000 (DOE)
  • Bonus: Quarterly, billable-based
  • Billables: 1,900 annually
